ABOUT USLocated in Bozeman, MT. Seneca Boards is a real mountain company. We get up at 4:00 on powder days so we can make laps before work, and we call in sick or take powder days off when we can. Seneca, an iroquois word meaning 'people of the big mountain' describes who we are, and the products we make; we are people whose lives are shaped by the mountains, and we make skis and snowboards for people like us; the most extreme and hardcore riders.Many peoples first question about Seneca, is why we do what we do, and what sets us apart. The long answer, as we usually tell people, is that Seneca Boards was born out of a relative disappointment with the ski industry. Really, what we mean to say is that there is so much potential in this sport that isn’t being utilized, and we wanted to build something unique with that potential, such as custom and handcrafted skis and snowboards. As we started learning more about the ski industry, our reasons for continuing changed from wanting to build new and creative skis, to wanting to teach people the history of skis and how to build them, to hoping to build the highest quality skis possible, and so on… we could probably write a book on all of the reasons that led us to this point. Ultimately, the short answer is the most accurate answer. We love to ski. More than anything in the world. It has shaped our lives; For better or worse, but usually for better. We hope to leave a lasting mark on the sport that has given us so much, and to pass on our passion for skiing and the mountains to the next generation.
